Art Nouveau high back armchair
Our
reference: TSP1080
Offered here for sale is a very attractive Edwardian mahogany armchair showcasing the typical sinuous curves and organic lines of the Art Nouveau style. The armchair features a flared high back decorated with sweeping vertical slats that fan outward. The same applies for the side supports of the flowing continuous armrests. The latter also dip downward to accentuate the overall curvilinear nature of the armchair. The padded seat has been newly and entirely traditionally re-upholstered by The Sitting Place®. The overall organic flowing lines are continued in the chosen fabric of intricate sinuous leaves and flowers by GP&J Baker - Little Brantwood (blue/green). The chair is raised on cabriole front legs and splayed rear legs. The seat is incised with a registration number. The armchair would make a beautiful addition to a room setting furnished in the decorative arts style. Note that colours on screen may differ slightly from the actual colours.
