Pair of Liberty-style Art Nouveau Elbow Chairs
Our
reference: TSP1078
Offered here for sale is a very decorative pair of Art Nouveau high back elbow chairs in the style of Liberty (dated c. 1910). These mahogany chairs are inlaid with stylised flowers on the shapely head rails and are also inlaid on the front seat rails with six small stylised motifs. The angled arm rests and front seat rails are attractive features of these chairs. The padded backs and drop-in seats of both chairs are fully traditionally re-upholstered by The Sitting Place®. The chairs are then covered in Iris Meadow fabric by GP&J Baker (blue/green). The fabric design beautifully captures the flower motif used in the inlay of the head rails. A registration number is found on the frame beneath the drop-in seats. Without a doubt these chairs would make a stunning addition, as statement pieces, to an interior in the Decorative Arts style. Note that colours on screen may differ slightly from the actual colours.
